Ruan came from software and has been building AI powered platforms at scale for the last 4 years. When he looked at dental technology, he saw an industry stuck in the past: fragmented tools, manual workflows, and zero to little AI adoption in SA and also with only 3 main competitors in the world.
He approached Stefan, a practicing dentist in Secunda who'd spent years fighting the same broken systems. Stefan didn't need convincing, he'd been waiting for someone to build what the industry actually needed as they started building smaller solutions first that Stefan identified there was a need for and then decided to go all in and built the one complete tool all dentists need — Cavitech AI.
